WCB & SGI Massages

Can WCB or SGI cover the cost of my Massage Therapy treatments?

Injured while working? = WCB                   Injured in a Motor Vehicle Accident? = SGI

The WCB (Worker’s Compensation Board) or  SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance) may cover the cost of
a limited number of Registered Massage Therapy treatments for eligible SGI or WCB insurance claims.

Massage Therapy Eligibility Process:

  1. Referral for Massage: You’ll  need a referral from a primary care provider (e.g., doctor, chiropractor, physical therapist) to initiate SGI- or WCB-approved massage therapy. Marieta Miedema can provide you with a Referral Form for your provider to fill out.

  2. SGI- or WCB-approved Massage Therapist: Marieta Miedema is an SGI- & WCB-approved care provider. To find other SGI- or WCB-approved Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs), go to the Massage Therapist Association of Saskatchewan website: www.saskmassagetherapy.com

  3. Claim Information: Provide your chosen approved RMT with your massage referral form, claim number, date of birth, adjuster's name, and phone number.

  4.  Authorization Form: Your RMT will submit a Request Authorization to Treat form to your adjuster for approval before your massage treatments can begin.

  5. First Massage: Your RMT will email you a Health Intake Form which you can easily fill out & submit using your smartphone or PC BEFORE your first appointment. Your first RMT appointment will consist of a 30min assessment & 30min treatment.
